What is on the market

Every aircraft PlaneFox can see for sale right now, resolved into one model taxonomy so the same type is counted the same way across every broker.

Where the aircraft are

Germany and the United Kingdom together hold roughly a third of the listings we can place on a map.

Germany: 544 aircraft (16.8% of those with a stated location)Germany544United Kingdom: 510 aircraft (15.8% of those with a stated location)United Kingdom510United States: 334 aircraft (10.3% of those with a stated location)United States334France: 280 aircraft (8.7% of those with a stated location)France280Brazil: 277 aircraft (8.6% of those with a stated location)Brazil277Italy: 179 aircraft (5.5% of those with a stated location)Italy179Poland: 149 aircraft (4.6% of those with a stated location)Poland149Switzerland: 120 aircraft (3.7% of those with a stated location)Switzerland120Czech Republic: 100 aircraft (3.1% of those with a stated location)Czech Republic100Austria: 77 aircraft (2.4% of those with a stated location)Austria77

Based on the 40.3% of listings that state a location we can resolve to a country. Sellers in some markets name the country more consistently than others, so read this as the shape of the market rather than an exact ranking.

What buyers are searching for

This is Google search demand, not PlaneFox traffic. We track monthly search volume for every model in the taxonomy across Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland and the United Kingdom, then compare the last three months against the same months a year earlier. Of the 108 models with enough volume to judge, 68 are trending up.

Where attention beats supply

Three independent measures of buyer interest, each divided by the segment's share of the aircraft actually for sale.

Page viewsEnquiriesSaved aircraft
100 = parHelicopterHelicopter Page views: 162162Helicopter Enquiries: 249249Helicopter Saved aircraft: 133133JetJet Page views: 172172Jet Enquiries: 178178Jet Saved aircraft: 8080TurbopropTurboprop Page views: 7474Turboprop Enquiries: 132132Turboprop Saved aircraft: 8484Multi engine pistonMulti engine piston Page views: 9898Multi engine piston Enquiries: 9090Multi engine piston Saved aircraft: 8484GliderGlider Page views: 142142Glider Enquiries: 7575Glider Saved aircraft: 4242UltralightUltralight Page views: 6262Ultralight Enquiries: 7474Ultralight Saved aircraft: 172172Single engine pistonSingle engine piston Page views: 8585Single engine piston Enquiries: 6161Single engine piston Saved aircraft: 9696

Each bar is a segment's share of buyer activity divided by its share of the aircraft on sale. Above 100 means buyers pay it more attention than its size on the market would suggest.

Helicopters are 10.7% of the market but attract 26.6% of buyer enquiries. Single engine pistons are the opposite: half the shelf, 31.3% of the enquiries.

The thin shelf

Monthly Google searches divided by the number actually for sale. A high number means buyers are looking for a type that almost nobody is offering.

Some types draw serious search interest with nothing on the market at all: Gulfstream G800 (11,042), Pilatus PC-21 (6,685), Dassault Falcon 6X (1,938), Air Tractor AT-802 (1,635), Sikorsky S-58 (1,065), Aero AT-3 (485), Cessna 408 SkyCourier (468), PZL-106 Kruk (419). Search interest includes research and enthusiasm as well as buying intent, so treat these as a starting point for a conversation rather than a shopping list.

The crowded end

The same measure inverted. These are well supplied relative to the number of people looking, which is where competition on price and presentation bites.

Attention per aircraft on PlaneFox

Which models pull more page views than their share of the listings would predict. An index of 100 is par.

Index of 100 means a model draws page views in line with how many of them are for sale. Higher means more interest per aircraft.

At the other end, Beechcraft Bonanza 36, Cessna CitationJet / CJ, Beechcraft Baron 58, Piper PA-46 Malibu / Mirage / Matrix / M350 draw fewer views than their share of the market suggests. That is usually a sign of plentiful supply rather than weak interest.

Selling an aircraft?

PlaneFox lists your stock in front of the buyers above, free. If you are a broker or dealer, you can claim your listings and see how your aircraft are performing.

How this was put together

PlaneFox continuously crawls 206 broker and marketplace sites and resolves what it finds into a single aircraft taxonomy, so a Cessna 172 is counted the same way whoever is advertising it. Figures below describe the aircraft visible on PlaneFox on 25 August 2026.

  • Counting. The same airframe often appears on several sites. We count each aircraft once, using the primary listing, and exclude sold, withdrawn and hidden listings.
  • Prices. 52.3% of listings carry a public price. Those are converted to euro at European Central Bank reference rates for 2026-08-24. Prices below EUR 5,000 and currencies without a published rate are excluded. Medians are used throughout, because a handful of very expensive aircraft would drag any average.
  • Google search demand. Monthly search volumes come from Google Keyword Planner for Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland and the United Kingdom, combined with a volume weighting. The trend blends the most recent three months against the same months a year earlier with the full twelve month trend. Airliners and warbirds are excluded from the rankings: they draw real search volume but are not broker inventory.
  • Buyer activity. Page views, enquiries and saved aircraft are reported as shares and index numbers only. We do not publish visitor counts for individual aircraft or sellers.
  • No time to sale figure yet. This is the honest gap in edition one. PlaneFox only began systematically recording when a listing disappears in July 2026, so any average we calculated today would measure when our checks ran rather than how long aircraft take to sell. We would rather leave it out than publish a number that looks authoritative and is not. The next edition will carry a like for like time to sale series.
  • Trends over time. For the same reason, this edition is a baseline rather than a trend report. Month on month changes in the number of listings are still dominated by new broker sites joining the platform, not by the market itself. Future editions will compare against this one.
  • Location. 40.3% of listings state a location precise enough to place in a country. Many of the rest give only an airport code or a city, and habits differ by market, so the country chart describes that subset rather than the whole fleet.
